How a Typical Project Works
Custom projects normally move through several stages. The exact process can vary depending on project size and requirements.
Requirement Discussion
We discuss your business, goals, required features, design preferences and expected result.
Quotation & Scope
We provide a quotation or proposal describing the agreed scope, estimated timeline and payment terms.
Advance Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, project development starts after the required advance payment is received.
Design & Development
We create the agreed design, functionality and technical implementation.
Review & Testing
The project is reviewed and tested against the agreed requirements.
Final Payment & Delivery
The remaining project amount becomes payable according to the agreed delivery terms before final handover.
Requirements & Scope
Every custom project is based on an agreed scope. The quotation or project agreement should identify the major features, pages, integrations, deliverables and services included in the project.
Features or services that are not included in the agreed scope may require an additional quotation, fee or extension of the delivery timeline.
Examples of changes that may affect the scope:
- Adding new features after development has started.
- Changing the agreed application workflow.
- Adding new pages or major design sections.
- Adding third-party integrations.
- Changing the technology or platform after approval.
- Adding additional mobile platforms.
- Requesting additional revisions beyond the agreed scope.
- Changing requirements after implementation.
Small corrections to the agreed work may be handled as part of the project. Significant changes may be treated as additional work and quoted separately.
Development Time & Delays
Development time depends on the size and complexity of the project. Estimated delivery dates or timeframes will be discussed during the quotation process.
A delivery estimate is not automatically a guaranteed deadline unless the applicable project agreement specifically states that it is a fixed deadline.
Project timelines may be extended where delays result from circumstances including:
- Delayed client feedback or approvals.
- Missing content, images, documents or credentials.
- Changes to requirements.
- Delayed third-party services or APIs.
- Hosting, domain, payment gateway or app-store issues.
- Unexpected technical problems.
- Third-party outages or service changes.
- Events outside reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays that become known during the project.
Payments & Pricing
Project pricing is determined according to the requirements, scope, technology, complexity, integrations, estimated development effort and other project requirements.
Typical Project Advance
Unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing, a 50% advance may be required before work begins.
Remaining Project Amount
The balance is generally payable before or at final delivery, deployment or handover as stated in the project agreement.
The 50/50 structure is a general starting point, not a mandatory rate for every project. Different payment milestones may be agreed for larger or long-term projects.
Payment conditions
- Work may begin only after the agreed advance has been received.
- Invoices or payment requests should be paid within the period stated on them.
- Additional work may require additional payment.
- Third-party charges may be billed separately.
- Taxes, government charges and platform fees may apply where applicable.
- Final files, source code, credentials or deployment access may be withheld until applicable outstanding amounts are paid.
Revisions & Change Requests
We want the final product to meet the agreed requirements. Clients may therefore provide feedback during the agreed review stages.
The number of included revisions should be defined in the project quotation whenever possible.
A revision means a reasonable adjustment to work that was already included in the agreed scope. A completely new feature, redesigned workflow or substantial change may be treated as new work.
Delivery & Acceptance
Delivery may include website files, deployed website access, application builds, software installers, configuration files, documentation, credentials or other agreed deliverables.
Delivery does not automatically mean transfer of ownership of every component used to create the project. Ownership and licensing are determined by the project agreement and the applicable terms below.
After delivery, the client should review the agreed functionality and report material issues relating to the agreed scope within a reasonable period.
A project can be considered completed when the agreed deliverables have been supplied and the agreed scope has been reasonably fulfilled, subject to any specific acceptance procedure contained in the project agreement.
Software Licences
JSV TechGroup may develop and sell software products such as business utilities, productivity applications and PDF-related software.
Unless a product-specific agreement says otherwise, purchasing a software licence gives the customer a right to use the software according to the licence purchased. It does not automatically transfer ownership of the software's source code, copyright, design, algorithms, branding or other intellectual property.
Licence Gives
- Permitted use of the software.
- Access according to the purchased licence.
- Use within the stated licence period.
- Use subject to product-specific limits.
Licence Does Not Automatically Give
- Source code ownership.
- Copyright ownership.
- Permission to resell the software.
- Permission to redistribute the installer.
- Permission to bypass licence controls.
Licence types
Depending on the product, JSV TechGroup may offer different licence models, including annual, monthly, perpetual or other product-specific licences.
The licence duration, number of devices/users, activation conditions, renewal requirements, permitted usage and other restrictions will be determined by the applicable product licence or purchase information.
Licence restrictions
Unless expressly permitted by the applicable licence, customers must not:
- Copy or redistribute the software for resale.
- Share activation keys or licence credentials.
- Remove or bypass licence protection.
- Reverse engineer the software except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Modify and redistribute the software as a competing product.
- Use a single-user or single-device licence beyond its permitted scope.
Intellectual Property & Ownership
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, JSV TechGroup retains ownership of its pre-existing software, frameworks, reusable components, libraries, development methods, templates, tools, documentation, code libraries, internal systems and proprietary products.
Client-provided materials remain the property of the client or their respective owners.
For custom projects, ownership or licensing of newly created project-specific code, designs, graphics, documentation and other deliverables should be expressly stated in the quotation or project agreement.
Payment for a project does not automatically mean that every underlying reusable component, development tool or third-party library becomes the client's property.
Third-Party Services
Websites, applications and software projects may depend on services operated by third parties.
Examples may include:
Third-party services may have their own terms, fees, availability limitations and privacy policies. JSV TechGroup is not responsible for changes, outages, suspension or failures caused solely by third-party providers.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and timely information necessary to complete a project.
- Provide accurate business information and requirements.
- Provide content, images, logos and documents that the client is legally entitled to use.
- Provide required hosting, domain, API or third-party credentials when applicable.
- Review designs and functionality within reasonable timeframes.
- Provide timely approvals and feedback.
- Maintain control of credentials and accounts supplied to them.
- Use delivered software and websites lawfully.
- Not knowingly provide malicious, unlawful or infringing material.
Delays caused by missing information, approvals, content or access credentials may affect the project timeline.
Support & Maintenance
Development and maintenance are different services unless maintenance is specifically included in the project agreement.
After delivery, support may include bug fixes related to the agreed project scope for the period specified in the quotation.
New features, redesigns, major upgrades, third-party changes, hosting problems or additional development may be charged separately.
Cancellation & Refunds
Custom digital work involves time spent on planning, design, development, testing and project-specific implementation. Cancellation conditions should therefore be agreed before development begins.
If a client cancels a custom project after work has started, amounts relating to work already completed, committed resources, third-party expenses or other non-recoverable costs may not be refundable, subject to the applicable agreement and law.
Any refund, credit or adjustment will be considered according to the project agreement, payment terms, work completed and applicable law.
Software products
Software licence purchases may have separate product-specific refund rules. These rules will be communicated at the time of purchase where applicable.
Do not promise “no refunds under any circumstances” on every product or service. Specific consumer, payment-platform or other applicable legal requirements may affect the enforceability of such wording.
SEO & Search Visibility
JSV TechGroup may provide SEO-related services such as technical SEO, on-page optimisation, website structure improvements, metadata, content guidance and search-engine-friendly implementation.
Search-engine rankings depend on many factors outside our control. We therefore do not guarantee a specific Google ranking, traffic level, conversion rate, indexing date or business result unless expressly stated in a separate agreement.
Search engines may change their algorithms, policies and technical requirements at any time.
Warranties & Technical Limitations
We will make reasonable efforts to deliver work according to the agreed requirements.
However, websites and software can depend on operating systems, browsers, hosting providers, APIs, devices, app stores, security systems and other technologies outside our direct control.
Unless specifically agreed otherwise, JSV TechGroup does not guarantee that every website, application or software product will operate without interruption or be compatible with every current or future device, browser, operating system or third-party service.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, JSV TechGroup will not be responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party outages, hosting failures, domain issues, API changes, platform changes, cyber incidents occurring outside reasonable security measures, or client-provided materials and instructions.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
For important business, legal, financial, security or compliance requirements, clients should independently verify that the delivered solution meets their specific regulatory and operational requirements.
Termination
A project or service may be terminated according to the applicable project agreement.
JSV TechGroup may suspend or terminate access to a software product or service where there is a material breach of the applicable licence or agreement, including unauthorised redistribution, licence abuse, non-payment or unlawful use, subject to applicable law.
Termination does not automatically cancel payment obligations that have already become due for work completed or services already supplied.
Privacy
Information submitted through our website, enquiry forms or service interactions is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Read our Privacy Policy →Changes to These Terms
JSV TechGroup may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, software products, business practices, technology or applicable requirements.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
For an existing project, the project-specific agreement or quotation applicable at the time of engagement may continue to govern that project unless the parties agree otherwise.
